Vox Pops

Vox Pops

Within our group we conducted vox pop interviews with a varied group of people. We decided to undertake this as part of our research as we asked the participants open questions and therefore received qualitative data from their replies. When conducting our vox pops we asked the participants different questions to those we had included in our questionnaire so that the results we recieved would give us a broader understanding of peoples interests within music videos. We asked 5 participants (3 males, 2 females) to par take in our vox pops so that we could receive opinions from both sex's so that when we produced our music video it was more likley to appeal to both males and females, therefore enhancing its effect on the viewers.

The vox pops that we conducted allowed us to understand in more depth what viewers expect from a music video. The information we collected from the research was qualitative and therefore mainly based on participants opinions. As a group we discussed the results that we received from the vox pops and decided which elements that the participants had mentioned were worthy of us incorporating into our music video, to further enhance the ideas we already have. Therefore undertaking the vox pops as part of our research has assisted us greatly in the production of our music video as it has abled us to build upon the ideas we already had to create a more conventional and appealing music video.

  1. This post demonstrates some understanding of why primary research is essential to carry out.

Aim to include the vox pops that you carried out and aim to consider how your research will assist you with planning your music video.
